Question:

Is Killz primer sufficient to encapsulate lead-based paint?

I've read that sealers can be used to "encapsulate" lead-based paint. Is Killz sufficient for this?

If not, what would you recommend?

Thanks

  1. I'm sure it will, as Jerry mentioned, your not going to "chew" on it.

However down the line you'd have to mention this to anyone you'd be seeling the home to.

  2. I am glad I came across your post. First of you are dealing with lead paint which must be ingested to be a danger to  life. Lead paint  does not give off fumes. If you have children you may want to encapsulate paint, however if you are adults  only you are not going to chew on the paint, encapsulation not necessary, how ever for future resale you might as well if you are painting  anyway, killz will do fine Jerry 30 years Painting contractor and general contractor. If you have any further concerns you may contact me via yahoo mail!

  3. yes kilz or anything you can use to cover it will encapsulate it
