Do long-time Laker fans agree or is this just teenaged Kobe fans trying to make a statement?

  1. The Lakers I believe had the  best players in all time like Kareem,Magic Shaq and now Kobe!!  yeah I think he is the best of all time on the Lakers!!

  2. NOOOO Magic is the best laker...ever

  3. Magic Is

  4. -Magic Johnson is the greatest Laker of all time, easily top 5 player of All-Time

-Shaquille Oneal has done more as a Laker, than Kobe.  What would make Kobe a better Laker than, Shaq?  Shaq won 3 finals MVPs, Kobe was a young player, that got a great opportunity, to play with Shaq in his prime, who happened to be the best player in the league, back then.

  5. I guess they can only identify with what they have seen and have never researched the history of the Lakers. I would go with Kareem or Magic even though I am a Celtics Fan it has always been thrilling to watch these great teams collide.

  6. Majic is the greatest laker of all-time

  7. i have been a laker fan for my whole life and i know for sure that kobe bryant is not the greatest laker of all time. no doubt that he is one of the greatest lakers to play but i don't think he is better than Magic johnson and not kareem abdul jabbar but i think that after his career is over he will be known as one of the greatest lakers but not the greatest

  8. Magic fo sho

  9. No way, Kobe is one of the best but not THE best Laker of all time. There are Laker greats that is better than him

    Like:

    1.Elgin Baylor

    2. Jerry West

    3. Wilt Chamberline

    4. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

    5. Earvin "Magic" Johnson

    6. James Worthy

    7. Shaquille O'neal (hate to admit it)

Kobe Bryant is a great Laker and will be a hall of famer some day but there are just some Lakers player that are just as better.

  10. Statement! Statement! Statement! Statement!

Kobe is not the Greatest Lakers of all time. Guys like Kareem, Magic and Wilt beat him out on that one.

  11. This is an opinion question.. Think whoever you think is the greatest Laker.. Personally mine is James Worthy since he was my favorite player. He is the greatest Laker of all-time.

  12. Kobe would rank behind Kareem, Magic, Jerry West, Elgin Baylor, Wilt (who led the Lakers to four finals in five seasons and was MVP of the 72 finals, and the key to the Lakers 33 game winning streak that season), and Shaq, as well..

In 1972, Wilt (age 35)  outplayed the 25 year old Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in an awesome 6 game Western Conference Final...the Bucks were the defending NBA champs.  Wilt carried that Laker team during the playoffs, as Jerry West couldn't buy a hoop, shooting 37% for the playoffs during that year...Elgin Baylor had already retired and wasn't around for the playoffs.

If Kobe could have carried the Lakers to a title this year (or if he does it soon), he could move up the list.

Baylor never won a title, but it wasn't because anyone could shut him down.  He put up some awesome numbers in his prime, both scoring and rebounding.

Kobe is exciting to watch as most of these guys, except for Magic of course.   You had to know a little something about basketball to appreciate what Kareem did out there, on both ends of the floor...

So no, Kobe's not even close to being the best Laker of all time.  Heck, even James Worthy was a better post season performer than Kobe.

In game 7 of the finals against Detroit in 1988, Worthy decided to put up his first career triple double (in his sixth year in the league)... 36 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.     Not bad for a small forward / third banana.

  13. I'm a long-time Laker fan.  Have followed them since 1967.

IMO, the greatest Lakers, since they've been in L.A., and in order:

    Magic Johnson

    Jerry West

    Kareem Abdul-Jabbar

    Kobe Bryant

    Wilt Chamberlain

    Elgin Baylor

    Shaquille O'Neal

    James Worthy

  14. i think Magic Johnson is the greatest laker of all time.
