  1. Yes, it generally is.

  2. it can be, but it doesn't have to be in order to be kosher. kosher chicken doesnt have any blood left in it though and large blood vessels are removed. I am not sure if there are antibiotics that can be used for kosher food.

  3. Hey guys you are mixing apples and oranges here, kosher is the processing and raising of the chicken, sure it was free range a thousand years ago, all chickens were, but free range does not pertain to kosher, if it is kosher though it has to follow really strict guidelines, look at (http://www.empirekosher.com/zip.php?cont... so more than likely it will not have all of the anti-biotics, but remember that it can have them since they were not around at the time that the idea of kosher was created, as for free range, there is nothing about kosher and free range in the same sentence, h**l if you are worried about free range, then how can you possible justify eating food that is kosher, you might want to consider how they butcher them first...

  4. Only if it's labelled as such. I also have the same problem trying to find free-range/organic halal meats. Both kosher and halal these days only apply to the slaughter method. Perhaps also the diet of the animal, but I wouldn't place a lot of money on it.

  5. The kosher designation isn't related to how an animal is raised so much as how it is slaughtered and processed after its death. So it can be, but "kosher" is not what you should look for on the label if you're after "free-range."

  6. Ask where you get your chicken. Kosher has to do with religion whereas free range has to do with the surroundings where the chickens are grown. They're two totally different aspects of getting the chicken from the egg to your plate.
