Question:

Is Kyle Busch having a "career" season?

It seems each year a driver dominates the scene only to fade into the pack. Denny Hamlin comes to mind, he's not doing that much this year. Also, Kyle's brother Kurt, who won it all a few years ago, but hasn't had such good luck the last couple seasons. Is this year a fluke for Kyle or will he sustain and become one of the greats in NASCAR, winning consistently and lasting for decades, not seasons?

  1. I think he is having a career season, and I bet that Rick Hendrick is having sellers remorse.  He should have gotten rid of Casey Mears last year, instead of Kyle Busch.

  2. Isn't it obvious Kyle's having a career season, Kurt's in underfunded equipment, and Denny just needs luck on his side (look what happened last night).

  3. Kyle's been building up to this his entire career, each year he's gotten better.

I think he'll be a serious threat for quite awhile..

  4. I think he will sustain it for years and years. I don't even think he's in his prime yet. He's only 23, so I bet when we look back on his career in ten years, it will be amazing.

Kyle has 7 wins halfway through a season, and is on track to be well into the double digits if he keeps up this momentum. No one in the MODERN ERA of NASCAR can compare to that other than Jeff Gordon with his 13 win season. I never thought anyone would get close to that again, unless it was Gordon himself. If Kyle Busch is able to compare to Jeff Gordon, then I think he will be here for the long haul, the very long haul. Denny Hamlin is still doing great, and will for a long time as well.

I think Kyle will be able to sustain his success from this season and become one of the greats in NASCAR. Just to have 11 wins and counting in just over 3 years time is amazing in itself, and this is only the beginning (14 wins alone across 3 series halfway through the season is a record he'll probably shatter this season). Kyle has finally started to mature, and realize that he can do whatever he sets his mind to. He isn't bouncing off the walls all over the place like he has done in the past.

The fact that he is winning races in all 3 of the major NASCAR series this season should give an indication of how much talent he has, and how far he'll go in the sport.

I think as he continues to mature with Addington and JGR behind him, we'll see a champion many times over. I just think it's cool that he's one of the youngest drivers on the track, and has plenty of years left in him. He will keep his determination to win going and win many races in his career. It will be fun to watch.

  5. i think he's gunna do this for a long time. 3.....4 years

  6. *fingers crossed.....one can hope his luck is finished ...kyle... needs to fade away

  7. that's what i think i mean it was kurt than tony than jimmie and jeff and all four have had mediocre seasons following there good seasons...
