The late Diana, Princess of Wales is currently laid to rest underground on a small island in the middle of a lake of Althorp, a country estate and stately home in Northamptonshire, England. It has been the ancestral home of the Spencer family since the early 16th century and is currently owned by Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. The estate and house are open to the public during the summer months (July 2nd to September 2nd in 2007), apart from August 31, the anniversary of Diana's death. All profits made are donated to the Diana, Princess of Wales Memorial Fund.
