  1. Tony Blair referred to her as "the people's princess", because "the people" loved her, and could relate to her.

    That's all.

PS : Lady Di was not a "commoner". She was born to an aristocratic family, with titles. Her childhood playmates were Prince Andrew and Edward, her Grandmother was one of the Queen Mother's Lady in Waitings, her father was an Earl and she virtually grew up in the house next door.

  2. Do you mean, was...?

  3. Those who rule for the name of God ..are called kings and queens and princess...they don't rule in the name of Darwin who said we evolved from monkeys...

  4. U know that Diana was born in a very simple Britain family. Later she got married to royal family of Britain by her beauty. After she became Princess, She kept her simplicity with her itself. She has done a lot of social works with no hesitation unlike other princess. She wanted to be one among the public. She also did it! So only she is now too called so.!!!

  5. hindus mind never change

  6. Micky...Diana was born to anything but a simple family.  The Spencers are one of the most aristocratic families anywhere.  She was the people's princess because she actually deigned to serve the common person, not just get rich off of them!!!

  7. Lady Diana may not have been born royal, but she was no simple common girl. She was the daughter of an earl, one of the highest members of the nobility. She was born to a life of wealth and ease, attended exclusive schools, never wanted for anything. Like other members of the aristocracy, she attended finishing school.

In spite of all that, she came from a highly dysfunctional family, and her parents were divorced. This was certainly the cause of her later behaviour, which became downright neurotic at times.

She was called "the people's princess" because of her charity work and help in good causes. Sadly, people like Mother Theresa don't attract media attention like glamour and wealth do.

Edit - Lady Diana might have been a member of the nobility, but she was still a commoner. Royalty is a completely separate class - everyone else is a commoner.

  8. Draupadi was never disliked by her husbands but humiliated by other family members.

In case of Diana her husband divorced her and other royal family did not humiliate her. She was more harassed by the media rather than her family.

  9. undoughtly

  10. No, She is Fatima of Britain.

  11. The Media made her who she is?? Personally I think she's a Nobody!! So she heled kids-all she did was hold there hands. What about all the nurses and nurses aides that really Do help the kids, you never hear about them--oh yea that'a right, they don't have millions.

  12. No. She was an unfortunate mismatch in the royal family. By her marriage to the future King of Great Britain, neither she nor the Royals were happy.

  13. Hey,

Dude...you are totally taking a different meaning to the phrase 'people princess' . Lady Diana was known as the peoples princess, because unlike other princesses she was not born royalty - she was born to a common man, and lived in a common house, the prince was besotted by her beauty and hence married her. That is why because she lived amongst the people - she was called the peoples princess...

    this should help...
