Is Lance Armstrong given the respect of a legend for his battle with cancer?

If he never had the cancer, would he have the same recognition and status which he has now? I think so yes, bcuz his achievements speaks volume of his ability and his disease would have played no part in hindering his success.

The fact he fought cancer and acheived what he did on the Tour de France only adds to the story - but you are right, his feats themselves are impressive.
