Is Learn To play the guitar a good book for beginners learning how to play the guitar? I just bought it and i want to know if i made the right decision

Sounds like you just bought the first instructional book you saw without even taking a moment to flip through it and read some of the directions. Like guitars, there are some pretty bad teach yourself books out there so you gotta search before you make a final decision (or you get lucky with the first book you pick up and look through).

Try it and see if you learn something, such as how to hold the guitar correctly and how to hold a pick. If not then, return it and see if the bookstore carries Teach Yourself Visually Guitar. If you're a visual learner, then that's the book you should check out.
