Is Leonardo a silly name? (see details)?

Planning on calling my son Leo, but wondering if he should have the full name Leonardo - or is that name a bit silly? So should Leo be his full name? Definitely don't like Leonard. Any thoughts?

Call him Leonardo, then he has the option of calling himself Leonardo if he wants to.

I think Leo is a name in it's own right, so I wouldn't worry too much about full names.

I think Leo should be his full name. Leonardo is too much of a mouthful for me. I really don't like it at all. Leo is short and sweet, but it is also very masculine. I don't think it is necessary to name him Leonardo.

Give him the full name and call him Leo as a nickname. Leonardo isn't silly. Gives him for options for when he's older.

I think Leonardo is a great name. Leo is a good nick name or daily name.

Leonardo isn't too bad...but I like Leo the best...it really all depends on the middle and last name...and of course, your preferences.

Leonardo is great if you have Italian heritage. It's a nice name but a bit pretentious, if not.

Leonardo is kind of a goofy name : ) but Leo is really cute.  You can definitely just have his first name Leo!  You're the parent - it's totally up to you!

And Yes I like kids to have fullnames as well.  When he gets older he may want to go by something other than Leo.

I would consider naming our son Leonardo except our last name is Lenard.  That would be funny - Leonardo Lenard.
