  1. He's a d**n good coach in Australia.  One of the best even.  Don't know about the world.  But probably not in the universe!

  2. He has proven himself to be a great coach winning premierships at both collingwood and brisbane. He doesn't look out of place along side the great coaches of the AFL

  3. nope.

i think Jock McHale is and then Ron Barrasi. well they're the two that i think have been the best in the AFL but i can't say best in the world cos i don't know the other coaches in the  other sporting codes.

  4. No. Not in a fit!

Jerry Taylor coached the Bull Creek/Leeming Under 11s for many years. Ask any of those kids - Jerry Taylor is the best coach - without a doubt!

  5. The best in my lifetime. i believe.....I cant comment about all time........my history on afl coaches is very vague

  6. No hes c**p. i think the Geelong, Hawthorn and Western Bulldogs coaches are the best coz their teams are winning all the games.

  7. NO

  8. Nope. He does not come close.

Greyhound coaches are far more reliable than this bloke.

  9. yes he is

  10. Kevin Sheedy

  11. Have you ever heard of Kevin Sheedy, Tom Hafey, Norm Smith, Ron Barassi, Reg Hickey, and I hate to say this because he is from Collingwood--Jock McHale?

Of course those are coaches in VFL-AFL, there are other leagues and other sports, Leigh is not the best coach of all-time, all sports as you state in the question. He is just among the many in footy.

  12. No Jesus did a pretty good job for Nazereth under 18s

  13. no, there have been plenty better the mathews.

len smith, ron barrassi, tommy hafey, just to name a few.

  14. yes of course

  15. he is up there with Kevin Sheedy as the greatest ever coach.

I dont think that we will se coaches like Matthews and Sheedy...again.

they like playing a simple game without going over the top with fancy tactics....good old fashined coaching!

but the thing that Matthews has over Sheeds....3 priemerships back to back to back!

  16. IDK the universe is pretty big. I might be out of my depth here but I thought Alan Jeans must have been exceptional, not just cos he coached the Hawthorn super team from the early 80's but look at all the coaches that came out of that team, there must be at least 6 or so that have since coached in the AFL (including Leigh Matthews)
