  1. Limewire, in itself does NOT harm your computer. The files you DOWNLOAD might. The files you download from limewire may contain viruses, so be careful what you download. Basically, any P2P program is not harmful to your computer, only the files that you download from it might be. Good luck!

  2. it just depends on what you download from there

  3. Yes, any file-sharing program is. A lot of the songs, pictures, videos, etc. that you download from them are LOADED with viruses and spyware. You should probably think about uninstalling it from your computer before it gets loaded with c**p.

  4. Yes, and I would get off it now. My friend had it on her computer, and weird c**p started happening to it!

  5. I personally wouldn't use Limewire. Too many nasties floating around on there.

I use Utorrent, & have done for a few years now, with no problems. As long as your sensible about what & where you get your torrents from, then you should be fine.

After installing Utorrent, find a torrent site, like Pirate Bay, or Mininova, then start downloading. Always check the comments on the torrent files before you download though, as it can give an insight into whether the file you are downloading is of good quality, is genuine, etc.

Some of the safer sites are private, & you have to register with them to download anything, eg, Demonoid, & IP Torrents. They don't always allow people to register, but check back at the sites every so often, & you'll find they let people in occasionally.

    All the best.

  6. Yes it is definitely harmful because it is file sharing. You share all the files you want while also sharing all of the bad stuff including viruses. Stay away from Limewire and anything like this.

  7. yea, sometime you can catch a virus by downloading files on limwire. but to make sure it ok, scan the file with virus-scan before you open it..

    good luck

  8. Very much so.If you don't have updated antivirus.and your default windows setting not changed. You could get a double file extension.Otherwords a trojan packed with a mp3 or movie. Like...Mp3.exe. two file extensions.Windows default setting is to hide these double extensions.Dumbfounded on that one.

if your going to download from p2p,You better know what your into and how to keep your *** from being stung. Also you can use peer guardian2.

That blocks ip's like the ones trying to track your downloads.

Link below is about the double file extension.
