Limewire in and of itself is illegal. Downloading anything copyrighted would be.

The basis of Limewire of exchanging files is legal, they are just providing a software to make it possible. The downloading and saving of Right protected files is illegal.

Kind of, but so many people do it, you are very very unlikely to get caught. Just don't reproduce it or put it on any cd's and such and you will be fine.

yeah it is, but yeah loads of people have it, i have it.

if your with karoo, they can cut of your internet for 3 days but you just have to ring them

LimeWire itself isn't illegal, but if you use it to download copyrighted files for free (this includes music, pictures, videos and even documents) that you are effectively stealing from the owners and THAT is illegal.

This is regardless of whatever country you're in; the law is the same all over. If you share things which have a licence on LimeWire than that is fine, as the owner has given you permission to download the file. Otherwise you are doing something illegal.

It is still illegal if you rae using the PRO version of LimeWire. None of the artists/copyright holders get any of that money, just the LimeWire company.

Yes if you use it to obtain copyrighted material that you don't have the original although limewire say its not.  Check here and judge for yourself
