well its free but if you make cds with it you will get into trouble by the police because they will track it to ur computer so ya it can only go onto ur ipod or mp3 player.

No. It's taking music from other people. But you're not paying for it so it's illegal.

However, I do it and love it. I download about 20 songs a month. It's technically illegal but I think they only prosecute the people who do it ALOT.

Yes, Limewire is a legal program. In the same way that cars are legal. If a lot of people used their cars to rob banks, does that mean the car is illegal?

Limewire and other sites like it (including tracking sites) are legally fighting to stay legal.

There is lots of preasure from the federal goverment and lobbyists to make them illegal - and they are winning.

While lime wire itself isn't illegal - the world knows that 99.999% of the people who use it are pirating.

And while the owners of limewire might be legit in saying they dont condone p****y - they are in a bad position now and will continue to fight for their life everytime a lawsuite comes into play.

it depends on what you are downloading. If you are downloading copyrighted things such as music or movies then yes.

Certain files on limewire are legal while some are not. It all depends on what you are using it for. Although the average user downloads illegal files from limewire.
