I live in the USA and I can't decide whether to travel to Canada or London, UK for a vacation (holiday, if you're a Brit). What is there to do in London?

  1. I'm an American and I went to London several years ago.  it is a fantastic place for a vacation.  I stayed at a great bed and breakfast in London.  In a neighborhood called Chelsea and it was within walking Distance of the Victoria Railroad sta and bus depot.  It was not far off from Buckingham Palace and it was a short walk to the underground sta. (what we call a subway).  I travelled all over by bus and underground and saw many sights like tower Bridge and the War Musuem where you actually go through a maze and it is dark and you hear the sights and sounds of London during the bombing raids of WW2.  There are river Thames cruises and the sights are just spectacular.  Plus this is where the history of the United States began with people comming from England to the 13 colonies.

The people are very friendly and helpful.   You can take day trips out of London to such places as the city of Oxford.  We went to where Shakespeare was born.  We went to see the famous Stonehenge.

I forgot to mention that the name of the Bed and Breakfast was the Oxford House in the Chelsea district of London.  You get a full breakfast for free and get to eat with the other guests in the morning while the owners cook your breakfast for you.  It is also in a quiet residential neighborhood as so it is very quiet at night.

Go to London.  It'll be a perfect trip.

It's also very easy and economical to get into London from Heathrow.  You just take the underground (subway train) from the airport into the city.

  2. London is a beautiful place to take a vacation. The people of London are just amazing. They are friendly, warm and loving.

    I love London.

  3. London is great, it has a lot of history but can be expensive.  As I live in Greater London I'd choose Canada every time.  I guess it depends what you want.  Lots of museums are free but eating etc is expensive.  There is lots of parks etc too.

  4. Depends on what you want from your holi-, sorry vacation.

There's loads and loads to do in London, Google it.  Whatever you want London has it.

I cannot compare to Canada, never been there. It does seem to have a bad reputation.  Many Americans seem to hate the Canadians, although I have no idea why.

In fact I might ask YA.

  5. Sit down and think about more ways of getting richer.

  6. Not if you live here.

  7. London is such an amazing place with loads to do!  It is a great place to go for a vacation from the states.  The only thing is that is can get quite expensive so look online before you go for deals.  Londontown.com is a good place to look into stuff.  Get an idea of what you want to do and how much you want to spend before you go and it will be a fantastic trip! You could always spend a day or two in Paris as well.  Decide also how long you are going for because the longer you are there the more you can do.  If you are willing to go outside of London it can be less expensive but more things are located centrally in London.  Brighton in the summer is fantastic also Windsor castle is open for touring if your are into that along with Hampton court and Warwick castle.  Just decide what you are looking for and you pretty much will be able to find it in London!!

  8. I guess anywhere is better than Canada. But if you want to go  to London here are a few things you could do here. You could go on the London eye,Camden Market,London Zoo,Covent Garden market and if you're willing to go a bit out of London you could go to Thorpe park.

  9. "What is there to do in London?"   !!!!???  What isn't there to do?!  (ok, you can't do white water rafting but I shouldn't think you can do that in New York either!).

  12. Hi,

London is really great, you can do loads of sight seeing like Parliament Square, Buckingham Palace or Westminster Abbey, and of course the Sherlock Holmes Museum in Baker Street. You can do river cruises on the Thames and have a ride on the Eye. At the weekend you can visit the markets in Camden, which is a great experience, go to one of the thousands of pubs or see a musical or other show.

It's really a nice city and very friendly and welcoming. I'm from Nottingham, but my aunt lives in London.

However, surely Canada is awesome too. Hard decision. Wherever you go, I hope you enjoy yourself!
