Is Lorazepam (Ativan) safe?

I m 13 years old and I was perscribed lorazepam but I'm worried about side effects. I took a few already this week and it didn't really seem to help, just made me dizzy, drowsy etc.

Have you been/are you on lorazepam and how did you find it?

Right now I have throat tightness/breathing problems, shouldn't lorazepam help this? And how do I prevent withdrawal symptoms? How common/severe are they?

THANKS

  1. Any medication prescribed by a licensed physician with integrity is safe and effective when used as directed.

  2. haha there is no way a docter prescribed you ativan and you are 13 years old. that is rediculous. if your doctor honestly did prescribe you ativan, and you are really thirteen years old, then you should find another physician. thats unbelievable.
