Is Lorenzo Neal going to play football this year?

Well right now Neal hasn't been signed by any team.  Its likely that he won't be re-signed by the Chargers.  I believe that his age is a factor in why he hasn't been signed by any teams.  He's 37 so that means, the older you are in your career, the less valuable you are to a team.  Many teams aren't willing to pay veterans because paying them, and knowing that the player will likely retire seems a bit unwise.  I'm sure that Lorenzo Neal will get signed by someone like the Jets, or Raiders or someone that can use a quality back.  But it will be a little while before he lands a solid job.
