As a young adult who frequently watches MTV, I would not say it necessarily "brainwashes" the young population, but merely provides as a means to pass the time. I do agree that some of the shows on MTV are trashy, but not all of them.  I think its rap music the corrupts teenagers. It promotes violence, murder, and s*x.
