Found out a local student is going there and I am not clear if any of the conflict there has been resolved. Anyone know?

  1. Nope we r waiting in the line, and by the way we r first in it, but some conflicts around our name r stopping us

  2. No they are not. Macedonia is still a candidate for EU membership. One of the problems that it faces that are hindering the process of EU membership are the Macedonian name dispute. Greece (who is a EU member) refuses to recognise Macedonia under its constitutional name. This is why it is formally known as the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia and not the Republic of Macedonia. There have been solutions brought up by both Macedonia, Greece and third parties but all of these suggestions have been denied by one of the parties. If it were not for the name dispute, Macedonia would be extremely likely to be allowed entry into the EU. But because of this name dispute, the process of admitting Macedonia into the EU is facing severe delays.

  3. I believe that most, if not all, of the countries that made up the former Yugoslavia are candidates for membership, awaiting approval.
