  1. As long as your kidney function if fine, then yes. Also, you want to make sure you're not taking any other medications sensitive to calcium or magnesium (antibiotics, some heart meds, etc.).

    I hope you realize that it's okay not to go every day. Have you talked to your doctor? Taking a laxative at regular intervals isn't good for fluid and salt balance in your body. Perhaps the doctor can help you identify the issue and give you better advice regarding your diet.

    Also, have you tried "Miralax"? It's like a gel that your body can't break down or absorb, tasteless and doesn't upset fluid or salt balance in your body. It's a bit expensive, since there's only a name brand, but try it and see if it works for you.
