Whoa, hold your horses, when all is said and done, Pacman may be among the greats, but putting him at the top of the heap right now is ludacris.  He has had some great battles with other great Featherweights but when all is said and done there will be nothing left to say and nothing left to do.

Not even close.  Something tells me Manny would have had his hands full with these former featherweight champs:

Salvador Sanchez

Henry Armstrong

Willie Pep

Sandy Saddler

Alexis Arguello

Eder Jofre

or even Wilfredo Gomez.

Any one of the above would have most likely given Manny a serious run for his money.

I agree with blogbaba.  May I add Eusebio Pedroza, Azumah Nelson and Jeff Fenech to that short list of fighters who would have given him all he could handle.  And at 130 Floyd Mayweather and Julio Cesar Chavez would have stopped him inside of 6 rounds.

perhaps in top 2 or 3, in many respects.

against the best smaller weight fighetrs on any era (eg. salvador sanchez, saddler), i think he can fare good against those people.

Manny is currently among the best fighters in the world pound for pound, but he is no where near the best featherweight of all time.  I believe that honor goes to the "Will o' the Wisp" Willie Pep.  Pep had 242 fights with a record of 230-11-1 (65 KOs), was most likely the best defensive fighter of all time, and was the most dominant featherweight of his era (and would have been dominant in any other era as well).

I agree with Blogbaba. Those names mentioned would have definitely giving Pacquiao a run. I like Pacquiao, but he hasn't even cracked my top five, yet.
