  1. The Marlins deal is dead. The Phillies were interested but had no one to give up that we'd approve of, and the Mets were interested but aren't really anymore. Odds are he'll be on the Red Sox until the end of the year, in which we can trade him and go out to try to get some cheaper younger players. There is still an hour and a half though, so you never know.

  2. He'll stay. The Red Sox know they need his bat.

  3. No one really knows... Some people say he is and some say he's going to the Marlins.

  4. It looks like he is going to be a Red Sox player for at least the rest of this season.

Looks like we have another 3 months of whining by Manny to look forward too.

  5. no he said that he doesn't want to be part of the Boston Red Soxs

  6. As a long time Red Sox fan and supporter, I think the trade to send Manny to to the Marlins is a good trade for the Red Sox.  In return the Red Sox would acquire Jason Bay from the Pirates.  He's a young slugger that I think the Red Sox organization could mold into a real quality day in and day out asset.  As far as Manny being Manny? Well he's no defensive gem, but in their hay day there was no better one two punch in the league than Ramirez and Ortiz.  If it happens it will be a sad day but this day was inevitable and a trade now makes sense for the Red Sox.

  7. No. Manny wants out and he causes to much unnesecary commotion. Matt Holliday would be a great addition for the Red Sox next year who is younger, better, and likely going to be cheaper then Manny. Manny wants 25 Million a year for 4 years and by the end of his contract he'd be a 100 million dollars richer but at the age of 40. So most teams won't want to pay someone 100 million who is aging. And if the Sox dont get Manny the still have Coco Crisp and Bobby Kielty who have proven themselves worthy of a starting job.

And trust me he will not get traded. The Red Sox need him to finish of the year since if they don't they are losing a big whole in offensive power. So he'll finish off 2008 with the Sox and then Leave. Likely teams would be the Marlins, maybe Giants if they have the cap, and Nationals. He probably would like to go to a contending team so expect him to go to Florida. Some definite nos are the Yankees, Red Sox, and Cubs.
