Is Marble naturally shiny? Or does it have to go through a process to get to that point?

  1. Well, it does have some natural shine to it, but if you're talking about the almost mirror-like finish you see on tiles and sculptures, no.  That's not natural.  It has to be polished to look like that.

  2. no.

Only after the surface is polished. If you want shine you need to go to a fairly small grit. Easier to apply floor polish on top to smooth out tiny irregularities and shine the floor polish.

  3. The definition of marble is, "limestone that is more or less crystallized by metamorphism, that ranges from granular to compact in texture, that is capable of taking a high polish, and that is used especially in architecture and sculpture." As you can see, the definition of marble states that marble is "capable of taking a high polish" which would appear 'shiny'. So to answer your question, no marble is not naturally shiny.
