Is Margarita Island a nice place to go for a honey moon?

My fiance and I are planning our honeymoon and we are thinking of combining the Caribbean with Venezuela. He wants the white sand and turquoise water and I want to visit Angel falls in Venezuela.

It is a nice place, but if you're looking for a more romantic and calm place I recommend Los Roques, which is a virgin island away from everything.

If on the other hand, you're looking for shopping and partying... yes Margarita is the way to go.

I would defintely go there for a honeymoon! I actually would go there again and again! The sea is  too beautiful!

It is OK.  I think that there are nicer areas in the Caribean to go to but on the other hand, you can take a day trip from Margarita Island to Angel Falls, which is totally worth it.  It is a major rush.  The beaches are nice in Margarita but not amazing...

Yes, It's a great place to go. There's a beach called punta arenas at the west side of the island that is very beautiful and less crowded than the more popular beaches like playa el agua.

Yes!!! Great honey moon destination!!! I grew up in Venezuela and I have been in Margarita Island several times. It is very nice. It is duty-free, therefore you will find a lot of imported goods at a good price. Gasoline in Venezuela is 12 US cents a gallon...So , you can drive around with no worries. and you can take the ferry back to mainland and go to Angel falls by plain if you prefer a shorter trip.

Isla Margarita is a beautiful place and the beach is breathtaking. However, it is kind of touristy and you can find lots of people there and maybe you would like a more secluded or less crowded place for your honeymoon so I agree on Los Roques as a better place. Anyhow, the Venezuelan caribbean is very nice.
