Maria Sharapova is the highest paid female professional athlete, according to Forbes magazine.  this includes all of her endorsement deals as well as the money she earns playing in tournaments.  Forbes has estimated that she rakes in somewhere between $20-$25 million per year.  Michelle Wie was at one point the second highest earning female athlete though, and not that far behind Maria, but her disastrous season last year probably dropped her down considerably, because she didn't really earn that much in tournaments due to a nagging wrist injury, and I think some of her sponsors dropped her contract.

According to Forbes, Maria was the only female in the 25 richest athletes.  She had an income of $23 million.  The previous year, Michelle Wie had been on the list coming in at just over $20million.  Unless Wie's income increased, she'd be behind Sharapova in earnings.
