Is Marine Infantry?

Is it worth do they see more action than Rangers, I was reading about Ramadi and it sounds ridiculous, it makes Falijuh look like a joke. considering less Marines fought off the Taliban.

I have a while until enlistment and I can make my self ready before I even get into DEP.

Whatever your reasons, if YOU want to be a Marine 03XX, YOU need to make sure your in the best shape of your life!  Before getting to the recruiter, you should be able to run 3 miles in 18 to 20 minutes and be able to do 17 to 20 pullups.  

Otherwise, your kidding yourself.

Once you make that commitment, make sure that your GUARANTEED an 0311 or 03XX MOS.  DO NOT go open contract if you dont have to.  Infantry spots are hard to come by.  They are competitive and the Marine Corps wants to take the best of the best.  There are around 10 to 15 Marines that support every single grunt on the ground!  From Communications, Air, Logisitics, to Command Elements.

Not only that..they have a little of everything from office work to a tank gunner,truck drivers,engineers ,laundry,mail...etc.

The Marines are an elite fighting force and are often the first ones into a hostile zone. Whether or not they see more action is simply politics. It also depends on what is needed. Remember that there are many different occupations in each branch that specialize in certain areas. And the reason you join is simply up to you. There isn't really a right or wrong reason, just think about the reason and consider if it's worth it.

No marines are anything they want to be. Marine infantry is marine infantry. Marine cooks are potato peelers. Marine Corps offers tons of mindless jobs for marines. HOORAH!

Marines and Rangers are not even in the same ballpark. Why would you think that? Ranger school is just as hard as SEAL school but focuses on different land and air based missions. The wash out rate is about the same at about 75-80%. I'm sorry, but your question is like asking if the powder puffs are like the New England Patriots.

Marines cant fail boot camp. They just keep doing it until the drill SGT says their a "go" or "no-go".

I'm not completely sure how to answer your question, but I hope this helps. The "bread and butter" of the Marine Corps is the infantry -- the "boots on the ground" if you will. It also takes a lot to support these Marines, too.  Every Marine, whether s/he is fixing an aircraft, in admin, working with artillery, or a part of the infantry; receives some level of infantry training.

As far as who sees more action between the Army and USMC infantry, I'll leave that to someone else to answer. The basic missions of the two organizations are at heart a bit different, however -- but I think a lot of what you are asking is dependent more on individual MOS. The Marine Corps is generally thought of to be the "tip of the spear" -- the first to arrive.
