My dad was switching channels and came across "Angels Live" on FSN and they were saying that Boras is looking to sign Mark to a 10 year $230 million dollar contract.

So my question to you is, do you think he is worth it?

  1. I dont think Arte Moreno will re-sign Teixeira for that much amount of money.

  2. That's an absurd amount of money to give someone who hasn't produced to his capabilities as of recent years.  A-Rod is the only one who could justify that money.  Teixeira is no A-Rod.  He'll get over $100 million though.

  3. I don't think he's worth it, but that usually doesn't get in Scott Boras' way of getting a ridiculous contract signed (ex. Barry Zito).

I'd put his value in a 5-8 year contract worth maybe 125-150 million.  He's a young player still in his prime, he plays gold glove defense at first base, hits for power and average, switch hitter and is pretty durable, rarely gets hurt or misses extended periods of time so that's probably why a long contract is coming.

  4. you said it Scott Boras=$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

  5. Hey USC GIRL.

Well i don't think the Angels will pay that kind of money!

But you never know!!Mark Teixeira could be worth the money ,Lets wait and see.

Scott Boras is a monster when it comes to getting money for his clients.

  6. yes that means he will get 23 million a year that is fair for a really good player

  7. i saw that and these were the thoughts that went through my head

    a. angels don't have enough $$ to sign him and that'll be a horrible deal if they do

    b. Boras is being a freakin you know what

    c. this is bull, he hasn't proven himself enough to be worth 230 mil

  8. Angels can't afford 23 million a year unless they trade away other players like Vlad

  9. hes solid defensively, good with a bat. But not worth that much. That puts him in range of A-rod money, and seriously would you rather A-rod or Teixiera? Boras is an idiot and tries to get much more money than the player is actually worth. Teixiera will be in Ny next year playing for the Yanks most likely, unless they dont want to deal with boras again, and if thats the case he will prob become a tiger.

  10. I hate Scot Boras. He made the Giants look like fools when they signed Zito to that horrible 126mil contract.

  11. To answer your question, no!  There is no one on the planet worth that kind of money no matter what he or she does for a living.  And by the way, we, as baseball fans, can thank that SOB Scott Boras for the ridiculous prices we have to pay in order to go and see a major league baseball game.

  12. Great Defensive Player, and Great Slugger.

I think he is worth it.

Though its a bunch to give to one player.

    Jack

  13. MArk Tex is a real good player but not worth 200 million plus.  He will easily get a contract over 100 but any team would be dumb to pay his asking price.  He is a solid player but lets be honest here, for that kind of money I would want him to put up A-Rod numbers like 40 plus homers every year and 120 + RBIs.  but he wont put up those numbers, he is more a 30 homer, 100+ RBI guy.

  14. That would be one of the worst contracts I've ever seen. Average 23 Mil a year to hit 30 HRs per? I'm not usually one to complain about huge salaries, but that would be beyond ridiculous.

Arod gets 23 Mil a year. Is Tex even close to as good as Arod?

  15. NO athlete is worth anything NEAR to that amount.  bunch of c**p.  what about all the police, EMTs, firefighters, etc, who actually DO something and save lives?

  16. what? are you serious?

thats why hes no longer with the Braves! lol

    thats too much!!

  17. No way he is not, maybe 130 million....even so, just an maybe

he will definitely improve the angels,

and i am afraid that my red sox are in some deep sh*t
