  1. The south.  I have to disagree with "Shonnie" though - the English government don't run things in the north ... we have our own government.  She's originally from Belfast but was living in a south Down village when she became president.  I think it's the first time there's been an Irish president from north of the border...?

    There's some info here... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/President_o...

  2. Just the south, be she's a Belfast women herself!

I don't know her personally but she is a really lovely person!

  3. She is from Northern Ireland is therefore another example of how the Irish Republic is often dependent on the United Kingdom for its quality people and resources.

Also the parliament in Westminster is the Parliament for the UK and is therefore the British Government not just English.

  4. hi you

MARY MC ALEESE is president of the republic of Ireland only even doe she comes from the north of Ireland,

  5. Just the republic. The North is in the U.K so the english government manage the affairs up there!

  6. She is the queen of France! JOKING!!

    Just the republic.

  7. Republic of Ireland. Even though she's from the North! But she's an Irish citizen, so she's allowed be the President of the Republic. It's an odd set-up, but it seems to make people happy.
