Is Mastercard as widely accepted as Visa?

I have a Visa debit card and I might switch to Mastercard. I just want to make sure it's as widely accepted first.

  2. I think I have run into one diner on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls about 12 years ago that didn't take MC. Since then I have never run into a place that didn't take my Discover (first choice) or my MC and I charge just about everything.

  3. yes. both mastercard and visa are more widely accepted than Amex and Discover.
