He has played at an elite level for 20 years...but he is a kicker.

I don't think he is a hall of famer.  Looking at his stats they are not that impressive.  And besides we are talking about a kicker.  Don't get me wrong kickers have a monumental role but it only is monumental when it counts.  Most kickers are not seen as important.  Just because Stover has been in the league so long it does not warrant his name to be in the hall of fame.  Most kickers don't make it there anyway and I don't expect Stover to.

    There are way better kickers in the past that never made the HOF.  

  5. No, considering that there is only one kicker in the HOF, that makes Stover going all the more unlikely. Also, he doesn't deserve the HOF he is good kicker, not a great one and certainly not one of the all-time best.

  8. Kickers are a very tough sell. If Ray Guy isn't in, and he was the greatest punter in history, Stover will never make it.
