I heard from a article that max (from the buffalo sabres) is going to be traded... I think he shouldnt.... he was really good 2006- 2007 season. This year he didnt do as good. What do you think. And how do you think the sabres will do next season?

  1. I think they are clearing cap room to sign Orpik and a forward.

  2. They SHOULD trade him, but I don't know if they will. I'm not Maxim or the Buffalo GM so I have no idea whats going to happen to him.

I can predict.........but my prediction will probably be wrong.

  3. He should've been traded  years ago.

  4. It's possible, he counts for 3.5 against the salary cap, and only managed 28 points all season with an abysmal -16 rating.  His 06-07 season wasn't all that impressive, but what he did do was likely more because of Briere and Drury, and more importantly, THIS ISN'T 06-07!!!!!!  It would be in the Sabres best interest to trade him assuming they can get a legitimate first or second line winger in return.

  5. If he is BUFFALO can spend that money on Defense! That improves them. The team he gets traded to will get a lazy top6 forward! So they will lose.

BUFFALO should trade him. They have plenty of Forwards and could lose one of the lazier ones for a decent Dman to improves themselves.

  6. 2006-2007 he was on an offensive powerhouse

the other teams had all their focus on Briere Drury Vanek

and he would just sneak in and bust off some goals

he fits into an offensive team very well, where he is not the main focus. so i think that would be where i think he would end up and do well. but in a semi building team i dont think he is the best fit

  7. It appears that a trade involving Max is inevitable.  It's all about value in the NHL, and for 3.5 mill he's just not worth it.  Max was a vital contributor to the Sabres when their speed was skating circles around the rest of the league.  Now that the other teams have caught up, he's just not as vital a component any more.  Max still has value, and I expect the Sabres to get solid value in return for him, especially if he is willing to renegotiate his contract.

I expect the Sabres to be better next season and even though there will be rebuilding in areas they should be able to qualify for the playoffs.  I base that on solid coaching as well as the amount of time and experience their younger players earned on the ice last year.  Between that and the sour taste of a long offseason, I expect the Sabres to be a well motivated club in 2008-9.

  8. Maxim wore out his welcome in Buffalo 2 yrs ago. ..............I'm surprised he hasn't been traded yet!

  9. He should be traded to Pittsburgh or Montreal :)

I will take him any day!

The Buffalo Sabres need defense man!

  10. I don't think he was ever that good of a player. The most amount of goals he has ever scored in one season is 23, and is too much of a defensive liability. I think it would be better if they traded him and spent the money more wisely. Darcy has made it clear that he has talked to Max and is open to trading him, we'll have to wait and see what happens.
