Anytime is a good time to travel to jamaica. It is so beautiful you will have fun whenever but you have to watch the high seasons for the tickets.

More yes than no. Early May might get you 10-20% better rates on hotels and resorts before the heavy tourist season arrives after schools let out.

May also is good because it's before the start of the Caribbean hurricane season, and Jamaica gets hit fairly often.

But May in Jamaica has the third highest level of rain during the year. It doesn't rain often, but when it does, it rains a lot. But I wouldn't let that stop you. See the average weather chart below.

It is always a good time to travel to Jamaica but having said that, May is usually rainy in Jamaica so it depends on how you feel about that.
