Question:

Is McCain a genius by selecting Palin?

It appears he met with Palin once, learned her daughter was pregnant and saw an opportunity to thrust abortion into the spotlight and get the luke-warm Republican base all fired-up.

At first I thought he was foolish to not vet Palin or chose a qualified candidate, but after watching the media take the bait and listening to Conservatives hammering home the abortion message I'm beginning to think that McCain is just playing hard-ball politics, and possibly playing it quite well!

  1. Yes, it is genius.  I have already had former Gore, Kerry, Hillary fans tell me they are going for McCain / Palin

    1. they are pleased with her, and pleased with McCains choice

    2. they are appalled at the viciousness of the attacks on her daughter and want no identity with the Dem party. ( as seen in an above post)

  2. Oh ya!

  3. Well, no. If he had chosen her after careful consideration, perhaps we might think that this was what he had in mind. But he chose her to spite his team for not letting him choose Lieberman, and he chose her off the long list, where she had been before Alaska started investigating her for the troopergate episode. Because the team disqualified her for that, she was never checked out. They never even looked at what her hometown newspaper had to say about her years a mayor. They're already had one "September surprise" on this one, and it was not a pleasant one. I expect there will be more unpleasant surprises for them.

Rather than a genius move on McCain's part, this is just evidence that he prefers the risky option. He shoots from the hip when he has time to set up and aim carefully. This is the beginning of the end for his campaign.

  4. I personally think he's an idiot on this one.  Here he has admitted that he is weak on economics and he doesn't go for Romney?  He bashes Obama (rightfully so) on inexperience and then takes the most inexperienced member he can find?  Further, he isn't going to grab Hillary voters by choosing a woman.  Palin and Clinton are about as far apart on all views as us and China.  He really disappointed me by not making that push for Romney despite Romney saying that he wants the top position.  I'm still hoping that he comes out and says, "Just kidding!  My VP is really Romney!" and end the convention that way.  He'd redeem himself by me if he did that.

  5. hahahaha!

that dingbat has nothing, even her mom wont vote for her!!!! and she will be next commander in chief?

YOOO...THIS IS JUST WRONG! AT LEAST HILLARY WORKED FOR IT..HE PICKED THIS HEFFA FROM OUT OF A HAT!!

ALL I KNOW IS SHE IS TRIGGER HAPPY AND A CRAZY REPUBLICAN WITH A PREGNANT DAUGHTER.....NO PLANS FOR THE USA!

SHE LOOKS MOR LIKE A PTA MOM THEN A FUTURE PRES

    AMERICA..WAKE UP

cant wait until biden tears her up!!

  6. Well, if you consider the upcoming debates with Biden and Palin, Biden will look like a sexist jerk if he comes off as being too rough with her, so he will have to play 'softball' with her, and that alone puts her at the advantage. Genius.

  7. the senile old fool thought that just ANY WOMEN would do

and he could get Hillary's voters

  8. Its a big gamble.

If she does well he looks good.  If she flops he looks bad.  She hasn't been tested yet.

Either way it wasn't his genius.  It was just luck.

  9. No, he's not. He's a foolish and reckless person for his choice of Palin and it could put our nation's security at risk should something happen to him while in office.

  10. Yes it is brilliant. Just wait until the demorats and Obama over play this card  which will be any day now.  The demorats are scuh tools.
