Is McCain a war hero or a whiner?

Right now is the Democrats' moment. Goodbye, John McCain, war hero. Hello, John McCain, bellyacher. What are the Republicans going to do in response? Complain about how unfair it is to say such things about a decorated national treasure? Typical. The whiners.

  1. Guess that depends on your perspective.  To me a "hero" is someone who goes above and beyond what most people would do-  Mr.McCain is a decorated Vet- but 'hero'?  Not in my mind.  He did what he did, because that is what he volunteered for.  I respect his service, but don't hold him in a 'sacred' place.

Most 'heroes' are quiet, private people who don't expect medals for what they've done.  They don't use  their 'heroic deed(s)' to influence people or manipulate the public.  Mr. McCain falls far short of my definition of a hero on this issue.

If his war history is valid evidence of his 'character' today, then so is  his abandonment of his injured wife and three children - who he dumped for a wealthy, 'rodeo queen' young enough to be his daughter.- (more recently than his 'Vietnam days').

Does being a POW entitle one to be a POS?

  2. John McCain is an asscloud with no sense.
