  1. trivial issues are what is important to those who allow republicans to win elections: the fundamentalists

or as mccain used to call them:"the agents of intolerance"

    flip-flop

  2. I have heard and read McCains stance on a lot of different issues. Health care is just a talking point for both candidates now since there are no REAL plans for changing the funding of health care.

  3. In our current state, these aren't trivial issues, they are still very important and need to be addressed but I do believe that if everyone became sick and ill because they don't have proper health care, then yes these will become trivial issues and thanks for pointing out that McCain uses these to avoid healthcare.

  4. yes he is. thanks for noticing

  5. Neither candidate has made public a lot of important details.

Obama does suggest increasing some government programs like SCHIP and Medicaid, which are breaking state budgets, without a suggestion as to how to make it possible. He mentions some income-related subsidies available to make insurance more affordable, and is in favor of requiring employers to offer insurance, again without having stated how he plans to make it affordable, especially to small businesses.

McCain's platform starts with a $2500 ($5000 for couples) credit to buy insurance. He also recommends a restructuring of the tax code to put private insurance on a more equal footing with that provided by employers, along with tax incentives to small businesses to encourage them to offer insurance.

Both agree, or something close to it, on several points, such as liberalizing the re-importation of drugs, strengthening anti-trust legislation as regards insurance companies, and improving transparency.

Neither will accomplish universal coverage, or even attempt to do so.

Also, it's a bit dismissive, don't you think, to trivialize issues that are important to a lot of people? Obama's position on guns, for instance, pays only lip service to the second amendment. If we were to accept his vision of that issue, it would set up a society in which the ordinary citizen is less than the government official. A two-tiered society under the law is a substantial philosophical change in the structure of our country.

  6. No, he's dealing with issues that are very important to the survival of this country.

Every society that has embraced homosexuality has been destroyed.

The 2nd Amendment is why we are still a free nation.

The murder of millions of babies can hardly be regarded as trivial.

Health care is not the business of the federal government, so really, that's all he should be saying about it.

  7. I want you to tell women's rights advocates that abortion is a "trivial issue" and get back to us if you survive the beat down.

  8. Get over yourself kid, health care has been in every election for the last 20 or more years and it's never passed.  It isn't an issue any more because the people don't want it.  Only the welfare and lazy people want it because they don't work to pay for their own.  Many of us joined the military and now have FREE health care.  Too bad so many are too lazy or too cowardly to join and get theirs.

The gun ownership thing isn't trivial.  We know Obama wants to take our guns away so he won't get shot because of his racist comments and dirty dealings but even that won't stop the KKK or some crazy from popping off Obama so if you want to save his life don't vote for him but we also know that to the democrat liberals killing babies is OK just as long as they can't fight back.

  9. He does address it and I think you know very well,,,you just made that up  so you could ask a question.

  10. every candidate does.

  11. g*y rights.     Gun Control.     A woman's right to control what happens to her own body?

And you call these "trivial issues"

I seem to recall that these have been THE MAJOR issues of the dems in the past.

  12. You forgot that he is a former POW.

  13. He addresses health care; read his site; he is opposed to taxing those with jobs to give free insurance to those withou jobs - simple.

  14. g**s with guns is not a trivial issue!  Ever heard of them g*y shot-gun weddings up in the Tennessee hills.

Arm the fetuses, give them a fighting chance.

  15. Gun ownership isn't trivial to the gun-owners.
