Is McMaster a respected school in Canada?

Yes it is.  It is one of the better universities for sure and has a great reputation.  They have a great medical school and do alot of medical research.  Highly respected for undergraduate sciences as well.  

You can google Maclean's University Ratings and see where they rank amongst Canada's other Universities.  They will be under the "doctoral" category.

McMaster's Health Science Program is pretty well-known , Med School in McMaster has about the same reputation compare to McGill , overall standing for McMaster is in top 100 according to the world-wide universities rankings
