Is Mexico City worth visiting if you have already been to Cusco and Lima?

Interested in visiting but want to make sure they are different enough.

so much difference between mexico city and lima.

lima is not as big, but seemed to me so huge.  mexico city seems more homely.  AND there are more interesting things in and nearby the city than there are in lima.

pyramids (sol y luna of teotehuacan)  

the butterfly sanctuary is 4 hours away in dec-feb.

the many many churches are nice...including guadalupe where mary made an appearance.

while the food in both countries is great, i prefer mexico city.

xochimilco is a nice place to go boating in the canals of the rivers.

the chapultapec park is also very nice (and huge).  it has the world famous anthropology museum.  the western hemispheres best (and biggest?)

i have got to say tho.....the beauty of mexico is not mexico city.  sure, stay there a few days....but GET OUT and see other places.  

nearby you can see

puebla,

cuernavaca,

queretero, ( a little bit farther)

and some tiny towns.  tlapuhaua is unknown but very nice.  they make christmas tree ornamants there.

tequisquiapan is a little yuppie like village near queretero.

taxco is the silver city in the mountains on the way to acapulco.  very very beautiful.

other ruins nearby include tule and cholula which are on opposite sides.  cholula is actually in the burbs of puebla.  it could be the tallest in the world...and it might be the church on top that makes it the tallest.

puebla has SO MANY churches....and some french, japanese and german people living there.  the french have been there for a long time....the others are there because of the car plants there.

I've been in Mexico City, it's a great city, and I also been to most of the peruvian cities like Cusco, Arequipa, Mancora, Lima and Iquitos, and it's just wonderful, and I think Peru it's safer than Mexico. But Mexico is closer, it's up to you my friend. Good Luck.

There are amazing things to do Mexico City.  It is a very unique city.  There are amazing art museums, the archeology museum. Aztec ruins are different than Incan.  It is the largest city in the world.  I would go.

It's a fun place but be careful. Not very safe! But why go to a city. Go visit exotic places in Mexico.
