  1. Firstly, I would like to say the term "Middle-East" was used by the British to give direction to where these Arab lands where in comparison with England. So, when someone not from England uses the term Middle-East I guess it would be incorrect. I would say U.A.E is the leader in the so called middle east.. I believe Brazil is the most populous and largest country in Latin America.

  2. I would think that Brazil would probably share it with Mexico.  Iran is mostly an enemy to the Arabs.  The exception is the Shiites minority that rules Syria.  It is now one of the most powerful nation in the region with the likely exception of Turkey.  Israel may have nukes so that likely makes their power out of proportion.  It is to fractured in the middle east to call them leaders.

  3. Mexico isn't remotely the leader of Latin America.  Castro, Chavez, da Silva all weild more clout in the region.

Iran not "the" leader.  They are the leader of the Shite world, but none of the Sunni countries look towad Iran for leadership.

Assyrians and Aztecs might make a good comparison, but just reflect the relatively tropical nature of early agriculture.
