Question:

Is Michael Crabtree overrated??

So many writers have said the system enhances his numbers (which I agree a little with) but I still think he's the real deal. What does everyone else think? And, do you think he has a shot at the heisman this year?

If you haven't seen enough of him, I attached a highlight video clip so you can get somewhat ofan idea.. I appreciate all comments.

  1. Tech may pass a lot, but Crabtree (as a redshirt freshmen and in his first year as a wide receiver because he played qb in hs) put up huge numbers even for that type of system. He can go deep, catch it at the line of scrimmage then take it for 50, make extremely difficult passes, and people don't realize that he is also a decent blocker.

As for the heisman, i don't see him getting it, would be nice though. Teams are focusing on him and sticking him with double coverage, which he still manages to break. Plus wide receivers are usually ignored for the heisman. Look for his qb Harrell though. Depends on how games against Texas, OU, and big 12 championship game go.

  2. In a way yes he is a product of his offense and how they are pass happy at Texas Tech so of course his stats look way better then if he didn't go to a school that passes %98 of the time

In a way no because he is athletic enough and has play making ability that makes him the receiver you look for every time you go to throw

  3. He is the real deal AND the system he plays in enhances his numbers.

The two statements are not necessarily contradictory.

  4. Hes a player. And he can cut too, dont let him get the ball in the open field.

  5. I would still want him on my team anyway!
