Is Michael Waltrip a better driver or Commentator?

What do you think should Mikey stay behind the wheel or the Microphone.

I can't believe you're even asking this. He is definetly better behind the microphone or on NAPA commercials. I don't see Michael Waltrip Racing making much longer. I see no hope on that team.

Personally I think he is a better personality. He is a good driver, but he has been in it too long. I don't think he is a convetional color guy. But I like Inside Nascar....

So I vote for mic...but not at a race...

i think he should focus on being a car owner more then any thing one of the weakest toyota teams and they have 3 cars to take notes off.

He has 4 wins in like 25 years.  There is no way his microphone skills can be any worse than his driving.

He was a betterdriver when he drove for Dale Sr. himself it was like he had something to prove to the Intimidator

Michael has never been much of a driver. Compare his numbers to Jr's while both were at DEI. The only time Michael contended was at Daytona or Dega. At all other tracks it wasn't even close. Nice guy, just not a racer.

I think he's good at both but, he just doesn't have the good equipment to win a race right now.  That's why you're seeing HMS, Roush and Gibbs finishing up front in most races.  I still think he should stay behind the wheel though.

well he WAS a better driver but I'd say he's like his brother and there both great commentators

Mikey is the poster boy for NASCAR.

He has the gift of gab. And uses it to his advantage.

I hope he makes the move to the booth, AND continues to own a racing team.

Maybe he should go into Nationwide Series Racing so he can comment on the Sprint/Nextel/whatever it is this week Series.

He's not the greatest commentator but he's infinitely better at that than driving.  Have you ever watched him race before?

I love Mikey.  I have to take the cowards way out.  He can drive although he hasn't been all that great in the past couple years I still think he has more to give on the track.  As for being a commentator he is pretty funny and he has so much racing knowledge he is a great teacher for all of us at home.

I can't make that call he is good at both and I think it's 100% up to Mikey.  I would support him no matter what his choices are.

I think Mike can talk up a good story. But you can't get that driving itch out of your system so easy. So one day, he'll walk away from the wheel and be a great commentator, but not anytime soon.

I think Mikey needs to go to the booth now. He has the gift of gab, and I enjoy listening to him. He just isn't doing much behind the wheel anymore.

Actually I really feel like his brother Darrell is a better driver and commentator.  Im not sure Mike is really that outstanding in either, although I like him.

I love Michael!!  I really like his TV show too, I think he is really good there.  His driving was not too good last year, with the Toyota problems and it was his first year as a car owner.  This year I think he will do better, and next year even more.  (I hope)
