he was born in baltimore but i heard he is not orginally from USA

  2. He was born in Baltimore and lives in Baltimore to this day. Not Bulgarian that I know of, you even said he was born in Baltimore.

  4. Michael's parents are both American (naturalized). Michael was born and raised in Baltimore MD, has lived and trained in Anne Arbor MI the past four years, and will move back to Baltimore upon his return from the Games. He is not, nor has he ever been, Bulgarian in nationality. He has no ties to Bulgaria.
