She keeps trying to play on the men's tour when she has never won on the ladies tour. Is she working her way out of pro-golf?

  1. I think she is.  She hasn't been successful on the LPGA tour why try and play on the PGA tour?

I think someone like Lorena Ochoa should try it, not Wie

  2. I truly think that she is being steered in the wrong direction.  From what I found out, her parents are managing her career, and it is clear that this is a stupid move.

It is also equally clear that her parents probably have little, if no experience in managing a sports career, or else they would focus on winning some women's events rather than having their daughter participate in this "publicity stunt" that would accomplish nothing more than embarrassing her.

  3. No.  Her parents are ruining her career.  They are the ones managing her, so either they are the ones pushing her down the path she's on, or they aren't saying no when they should.

  4. I think that she needs to play more on the LPGA Tour.  Mark my words, she will not make the cut at the Legends Reno-Tahoe Open.  Fortunately for her, she is only 18 years old.   I think she can make a positive turn around, but she needs to stay off the PGA Tour until she wins on the LPGA Tour.

  5. She should stick to the LPGA. She will never make a cut on the PGA, or if she does, she'll finish toward the bottom. She's made so many mistakes in her career that it's crazy, and having her parents manage her is not the smartest of moves. She's wasting what talent she has. In the long run, she'll be known for her mistakes more than her accomplishments.

  6. Yes and No.

At the moment she certainly is, and Im not sure how much of it is her or her management but I digress. She only has 1 more LPGA tour exemption and with her current standing she pretty much has to win it to get her tour card back. So it certainly appears she wont have her tour card much longer.

But in the big picture she is only 18 years old, and has been accepted to Stanford. She cant play for the team because she has already turned pro and would be against NCAA rules, but she can compete amature events in her free time. Essentially she can relax, enjoy her teenage years more, and decide if golf is really what she wants. If it is she has time to practice and really work her way back into the sport.

Hopefully she comes back with a greater respect for the game.

  7. Shes only 18, shes going to Stanford. She will be OK her career will be just fine, shes got some growing up to do, but she will.

  8. She is just trying to beat the guys. If she keeps on playing in PGA she'll eventually get some  experience and go to LPGA.
