Is Microsoft Office compatible with the Mac?

Am looking to buy a Mac and would prefer Office to iwork. On the site it says it is compatible with files. But can you use it as the word processor?

  1. You have to buy Office 08 for Mac (probably 09 soon)

    It's for students, but if u r an adult just pretend u r a student.

  2. Yes, Office for Mac 2008 contains full versions of Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as a couple of other Microsoft programs.

    Only problem is, it runs like c**p on all systems and you will be better off just getting accustomed to using iWork. It's the cheaper option and in the long run will serve you better.
