Microsoft Works is a free program, and I deleted it and my computer works fine. Windows sucks don't waste your time and get a Mac!!

Microsoft Works is a precursor to the MS Office Suite. So you don't need it unless you need word processing and cannot get your hands on anything else. I would recommend either getting Microsoft Word or getting (free) Open Office.

You do not need MS Works to run your computer. It has nothing to do with the Operating System.
