Is Microwaving 1 cd for around 5-10 minutes safe?

So yeah i really dunno is microwaing a CD safe. Will it damage the microwave?

  1. I think that for that much time it might actually explode... and yeah it would damage the microwave... I THINK, not sure though.


  2. It's equivalent to operating the microwave empty, or a transmitter without a load.  The voltages get much higher than the equipment is designed to handle, so yes, it is likely to damage the microwave.

  4. ya it will kill the microwave. i did it before lol. 180 dollar microwave broke lol

  5. The foil on a CD is so thin that even a few seconds will result

    in arcing & 'tracking' of the CD,

    You can damage the micro-wave. Don't mess around.
