Is Milano safe at night?

Is it safe for a girl to walk alone in Milano at night? If it is safe only in some parts of the city, would you tell me in which one? Thanks.

Friend above is correct. Nothing to do with Prodi, with him it will only get worse as the left in Italy is setting up an express lane for Italian citizenship for foreigners. Much like the intentions of Schroeder in Germany (and that did him in).

More importantly, it is best to be alert at all times and use common sense as others have addressed above. Enjoy Italy !

Milano is safe, in the centre. But where are the disco, (como street, for example) aren't safe. There are a lot of drug addict and prostitute

I really would like to know if people who answered are form Milan..I'm from Milan, I'm a girl and I can tell you that, like every city, if you walk alone in the center it's not dangerous. If you go alone in a park or in the suburbs or in the underground..well.. it depends, it can be risky. Just a specification: nothing to do with  Prodi: it's years that in Italy there are lot people from other countires like everywhere :) Believe me, for my job I travel a lot! Ciao

If you want to walk alone in Milano, I would only suggest it during the DAY.  Otherwise at night, I would suggest having a male friend or companion with you.  I live about half an hour north of Milan, so I am speaking from experience.
