Is Mililani a good place to live

Question

How is the crime rate and attitude of the residents? I will be working at Pearl Harbor and wanted to know what the commute is like.

It's a great place to live! I promise you're not gonna find a better community on Oahu unless you can $afford$ to live closer to town...

*I have family there= 20+ years.

Mililani is a great place to live, if you are fortunate enough to work in the Mililani/Wahiawa area.  But the commute to Honolulu is absolutely horrible.  You wouldn't be going all the way into town, but you would be going far enough in really awful traffic that it would be hard for me to recommend that you live in Mililani.  I lived there for about 4 years in the late 80's & early 90's.  We moved because the commuting was sucking both me & my husband dry.  Ended up with lots less house for lots more money, but the commute was tolerable.  

The crime rate is not high & I found the people to be very nice.  If it weren't for the commute, I am sure I would still be living there today.

i live in mililani!

and i'd say yes....

we have a pretty tight nit community- though you do come across the occasional a*****e, very very rarely

(like this one *** who ripped off an elderly senior citizen last month)

and traffic sucks a lot- but its totally worth it (my mom works in pearl harbor) if u can get 3 ppl, u can ride in the zipper lane- or if u get 2 ppl, u can take the carpool... or just schedule your hours when there's no traffic- or just sit in it and have good playlists ready
