Is Military Police/Air Force Security Forces a good job?

If I could get some answers from active or former MP's or Security Forces, I would very much appreciate it.

If you want a job in Law enforcement then Yes!

I'm not a USAF Security Forces member myself.

But I do see them everyday (in the desert).  Checking ID cards, opening and closing the gate.  In the hot sun.  115-130 degrees outside.  If you're an airman, guess what?  That's what you'll be doing when you deploy (most of the time).  If you're lucky, you'll go into a CRG.

My friend was a MA, a navy MP, and it turned him into a monster. He had no life, was treated like c**p by everyone, and worked five 14 hour days a week. It is a horrible job, and when you get deployed you are responsible for responding to attacks on bases. It sucks.

Being a police officer is not an easy job. I am not just talking about physicaly, iam talking emotionaly as well. most people are not comfortable around police, so they usualy are not themselves, that is why most police officer keep to there own kind. Not to mention it makes you sinical.

If you want to be in law enforcement when you get out yes, otherwise it's a new issue every day. There is never a dull moment for the MP's. Especially here in San Diego. They have to make runs to Mexico on a daily basis to pick up the drunks who got arrested there, protect and secure the base, issue traffic violations on base, etc.
