In an exclusive interview with CNN's Matthew Chance in the Black Sea city of Sochi on Thursday, Putin said the U.S. had encouraged Georgia to attack the autonomous region of South Ossetia.

Putin said his defense officials had told him it was done to benefit a presidential candidate -- Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama are competing to succeed George W. Bush -- although he presented no evidence to back it up.

Putin is more credible if you are a member of the blame America first club which most Liberals are.

Putin cannot be trusted. He hates America and fears McCain because McCain is a strong leader.

Putin needs a weak US president who will not oppose Putin's aggression. Putin would love to see Obama in the White House.

I think Bush is more credible, partially because of your insinuation.  You obviously want me to think Putin is good and Bush is bad, so much so that you attach "WMD" to Putin's name.  That suggests to me that you're just trolling, and you know how bad Putin actually is.

Wow...that's a hard question. Basically, I figure it breaks down like this:

Putin:

Professional liar who DEFINITELY can detect the scent of blood in the water from thousands of miles away. However, there is not a lot of space for Americans to question his credibility especially in light of the r****d in the monkey suit presently peeling bananas in the Oval Office.

Bush:

Professional liar who has already been caught in at least three HUGE lies that have directly resulted in the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people and counting.

So...I would certainly not put it past Dubya to have fomented conflict in Georgia...and that is exactly what Putin was counting on when he made the comment.

If Russia could produce proof, you can bet I would throw a party (after I come back from evacuating from Gustaf).

Frontline did a program on US military involvement around the world, including the old "Stans" or ex-Soviet States that now surround the south boarder of Russia. We have had troops in these areas training soldiers for a number of years now. I think the number of countries worldwide numbers over 180.

That much we know is true.

Putin is a born-again Christian while G Wimp Bush (who didn't have guts enough to serve in Viet Nam) renounced Jesus Christ as the only way to the Father to gain the endorsement and support of the israel lobby/synagogue of satan.

That's an entire universe of difference.  

America will soon be toppled as the LORD toppled many societies in the Bible.  And it will be by some power American officials consider third rate.  Will it be Russia?  Or China?  Maybe the reunited New Europe.

The Russians have been planning this for months. It would have taken them that long to get the needed equipment and men over the mountains.

I'm going to wait on this one. Putin is part of the old KGB. Has the lack of moral fiber of BushCo. So his ability to lie is great. But in this I do see the possibility he could be telling the truth.

Putin is not a blowhard. Do people that deny his claim really believe that he would make such statements without something to substantiate them? Why would he risk being a fool to the international community?

Bush on the other hand has nothing to lose as far as his international reputation is concerned.

Putin has a sense of pride.  In this case, I think he's pissed that GWB thinks he can play him for a patsy.  I would bet that every word of it is true.
