  1. no he is morman

  2. No. But there were Mormons who fled to Mexico when the Federal troops entered Utah. Many of those who later returned to the States wound up settling in Casa Grande Arizona and the area around that town. I don't know for sure if any of the Romney clan were involved in that forced migration, although there were rumors about his father being born in Mexico.

  3. I don't think so.

Bill Richardson, who was in the Democratic race, is.

  4. Not really.

The Mormon colonies in Mexico are towns near the Sierra Madre mountains settled by early Mormon pioneers. They were founded by mormons in the 19th century as part of a large colonizing effort instigated by Brigham Young, which dotted the map of western United States, southern Alberta, and northern Mexico with Mormon settlements.  The two surviving Mormon colonies in Mexico are Colonia Juárez and Colonia Dublan.

George Romney (Mitt's father) was born in Colonia Dublán and moved to Idaho, USA when the Mexican Revolution broke out.  But he was always a natural born American citizen, as he was born to American parents.

Mitt was born and raised in the USA.
