Is Mo Williams a good addition for the Cavs?

A guy who has averaged 17ppg, and 6 apg in each of the past two seasons.. and still young enough that he still has pretty good upside..

I think it's a great addition for them, but I'm looking for input from others.

  1. You can't deny the fact that he doesn't play defense, I mean yea, he will give you that 17 and 6, but on the defensive end, he can't really guard anybody. I don't think this is a great addition to the Cavs.

  2. It is a great addition, but his defensive skills and contract are the downsides. This in no way is BAD. This will only improve the team. I have always loved Mo Williams, he is honestly a very good player who will just help LeBron. He is a good passer who will not only improve LeBron (yes i said it, improve LeBron) he'll improve other players. Also he is a very good ball handler (at least better than anyone before not named LeBron James) so that puts LeBron on the wing more where he is not only more natural but more effective. Boobie Gibson is a pretty good defender, so he can play the 2 guard to help defend other team's guard combos. Not only is Boobie good defensivly, he's also a very good shooter, and seeing how well LeBron and Williams pass, it will only end up good. The Cavs should try and pick up Quiton Ross if they can, he is spectacular on defense, but I am not sure about their cap limit and such, so don't get mad if they have no chance lol.

  3. No.  They needed a veteran pure point that passes, not a shooter at the 1.  Mo Williams will have the ball in his hands so much that Lebron will get jealous and want to make great passes, while really creating turnoveres.  This is NOT the first time James has played with someone with more than 16 PPG.  Do you remember Larry Hughes and Z has been consistently around 15 PPG.  Hughes had the same expectations that Mo Williams has now.  Plus, why add another poit guard when you have Boobie and Delonte West, both of whom showed up in the playoffs last season???

  4. its a great addition, its just what the cavs needed and he will really help the cavs and lebron.

    they're going to the finals

  5. I don't think so. He's just another role player what that team needs is another all star. But who cares the Cavs are gearing up for the future without King James cuz he's gonna play for Jay-Z's team holla.

  6. yes this will give lebron the help he needs

  7. He can't be a bad addition that's for sure. We barely even lost anyone! I love Damon Jones, he's one of my favorite players but he just wasn't getting it done anymore...and Joe Smith is good, but Mo Williams is better. I bet he's going to get even better with Lebron. Lebron always makes his teammates better.

If the cavs were the closest team to compete with Boston last year then what happens now? :)

    Hope this helps!

  8. He's a good addition, but I wonder why the Cavs also signed Daniel Gibson to a long-term deal in the off-season if they were looking to sign a guard like Williams too?

I think Cleveland's front office would have been better served to get a legitimate free-agent PF or C on the roster instead of signing 2 guards in Gibson and Williams.  PF Ben Wallace is a stiff offensively, PF Anderson Varejao is more of a hustle player than a skilled player and C Zydrunas Ilgauskas is going to start slowing (even more) very soon - 7-footers historically slow rapidly once in their mid-30's.

  9. h**l yeah it's a great addition it takes some pressure from lbj from scoring 30 points every game now. He finally has some help to score now that was a great addition and excellent addition.

  10. This will be the first time in lebrons career that he will play with a player that averages over 16 points.Of course its good
